I recently took a trip to Big Sur for spring break. After I got done with finals I left friday with my buddy JP and we met our 4 friends Dave, Nikki, Plinio, and Melissa. Melissa actually rode her bike the 90+ miles down there and leaving at 6 am about 5 1/2 hours before us only arrived there 20 minutes later. It was a pretty amazing trip. Friday we went to Pfeiffer Big Sur Beach which provided some very easy climbing up to a little trail to overlook the little cove. On Saturday we left early and set out to conquer Mt Manuel. It only took about 3 hours I think and we ended up being the first ones on top of the mountain which was incredible. The marine layer completely covered the ocean and was spilling over the trees and into the valley. On Sunday we went to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park and did the scenic hike there. The highlight was definately when we were up at the vista for what could have been no longer than 15 minutes and we see what ends up being condors that flew overhead for 2 or 3 minutes. Unfortunately Dave and JP left on Sunday morning because they had other time constraints for Spring Break so they couldn't see that --good thing I got a few pics

-- Monday we just packed up our stuff and went to Andrew Molera on the way back which wasn pretty uneventful. Saw a few hawks but too far away to get any decent pictures. While people were laying out at the beach Melissa did find a miniscule tick so I suppose that is one good thing that came of it --finding it, not it being there--. All in all an amazing trip and really quenched and slaked my thirst for getting into nature photography if that makes any sense. It was really lucky to have such an opportunity and I am thankful and at the same time it makes me want to go out more often and play the waiting game for wildlife. Oh well we will see what I say on my next trip when im sitting in some spot for 4 hours and nothing comes my way. We must be thankful for everything we get, and I try to be. Well on second thought I won't be posting any thumbs because it appears as though I forgot how to do it and they arent showing up. The pictures are in my gallery and I will try to put thumbs up in this journal if possible

We must go shooting often. I foresee great things when your digital takes on my film.
